A product with a future
Bertin, one of CNIM’s subsidiary, developed a medical waste management solution in France. This high-performance solution combines high-capacity treatment (up to 70 kg/hour) with low operating costs. After treatment, the volume of the waste is reduced by 80% (by grinding) and its weight is reduced by 20% (by evaporating water). This medical waste management system offers on-site waste treatment and microwave sterilization to provide public authorities with a clean process producing no harmful effluents and ensuring waste traceability.

Meeting domestic challenges for the local market
In 2015, French teams supervised the transfer of technology to their colleagues in China for domestic market. The skills developed locally were quite similar to those required for the manufacture of escalators and industrial conveyors such as mechanical and electrical assembly, and monitoring and control. Personnel at CNIM Industrial Systems China also perfected their expertise in precision mechanics, as Sterilwave’s grinding systems include high-speed small-sized rotating parts.
